The tail hit the ground. This can happen from rapid/over-aggressive rotation on takeoff, the use of a too-low VR (velocity-rotate, the speed at which the airplane is rotated to a takeoff pitch attitude), passenger/fuel/cargo loading problems, landing too slowly, etc.
