The crew rejected takeoff after V1, including after becoming airborne. V1 is the "abort" speed, beyond which the crew is usually committed to take off. Most aborted takeoffs after V1 end in disaster. Takeoffs aborted before V1 will usually have enough runway to safely stop the takeoff, though there is current controversy about the realistic assessment and reporting of runway friction.
